Medical nutrition therapy
Medical nutrition therapy utilizes dietary intervention to treat medical conditions and their associated symptoms. Conditions include but are not limited to, diabetes, gestational diabetes, obesity, eating disorders, cardiovascular disease, hypertension management, gastrointestinal conditions, renal disease and food allergies.
Medical nutrition therapy can improve your overall quality of life by managing symptoms of pre-existing conditions, decreasing hospitalizations, decreasing medications, and their associated costs, and improving your overall health and wellbeing.
Teamwork is critical. If problems are identified outside of the dietitian's scope of practice, referrals will be made to appropriate disciplines as needed.
